Pancakes for Mardi Gras, Hamentaschen Hunt and Soap-Making Top This Weekend's Family Events

Not sure where to take the kids this weekend? Here are five local, family friendly events you can check out.

MARDI GRAS CELEBRATION AND PANCAKE SUPPER

  • Where/When: Sacred Heart Parish of Glyndon on Mar. 4, at 6 p.m.
  • Why Go: All are welcome to this celebration; there will be food, games and fun! Donations to Catholic Relief Services are welcome.
  • Pricing: Donations welcome.

HAMENTASCHEN HUNT

  • Where/When: JCC of Greater Baltimore on Saturday, Mar. 5, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Why Go: Open to everyone, this is a Purim-themed scavenger hunt. There will also be a costume contest!
  • Pricing: JCC members: free, non-members: $18.

GOT SHABBAT

  • Where/When: Baltimore Hebrew Congregation on Friday, Mar. 4, at 5:45 p.m.
  • Why Go: This event is open to everyone and will include a Shabbat dinner, songs, a story and pajama Shabbat.
  • Pricing: $20/family.

SCRUB-A-DUB-DUB!

  • Where/When: Irvine Nature Center on Saturday, Mar. 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Why Go: Here's something that's a little different for you and the kids: learn how to make your own soap! This is geared toward kids who are 8 and older.
  • Pricing: Members: free, non-members: $10.

CUPCAKES AND CURLS FOR LITTLE GIRLS

  • Where/When: Art of Hair (The Salon) on Friday, Mar. 4, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Why Go: Moms can enjoy some wine and cheese, while their daughters enjoy cupcakes and learn how to care for their own hair.
  • Pricing: $25.
